Seeing Beyond: Trusting God’s 20/20 Vision for Our Lives
Have you ever looked around and thought, “There’s no way this mess can be part of a master plan”? Maybe you’re in a season where nothing adds up, and every turn seems like a dead-end. Life throws challenges, and suddenly, “walking by faith” feels like walking on Legos barefoot. But that’s when we’re reminded that while we’re limited by what we see, God has already set a heavenly 20/20 vision over our lives.
In 2 Corinthians 5:7, we’re told to “walk by faith, not by sight.” And let’s be honest—that’s easier said than done. When the bills pile up, stress levels rise, and hope feels dim, “walking by faith” sounds like an uphill battle. Yet, this verse nudges us to look beyond what’s visible and lean into what God has waiting in the unseen. We’re not meant to judge life solely by what our eyes can see because, frankly, things aren’t always as they seem.
Think of it this way: in Isaiah 55:8-9, God reminds us, “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways.” That job you didn’t get? The relationship that didn’t work out? Those detours might just be part of God’s broader vision. What looks like a mess in the natural could very well be a masterpiece in the making. With God’s perfect sight, He can see every twist and turn, every mountain and valley. And while it’s all too easy to judge by what’s in front of us, God sees the end from the beginning, always crafting something good.
Imagine having a front-row seat to a 3D movie but forgetting to wear the glasses. All you’d see is a blurry, confusing mess. That’s a bit like how we experience life without God’s perspective. We’re only catching part of the view. Jeremiah 29:11 tells us that God has plans for us—plans for hope and a future. Even when we don’t get the whole view, each moment of our journey is designed with His intentionality. There’s purpose in every step, every pause, every delay, even if we can’t see it right now.
And here’s the thing—God’s 20/20 vision has a sense of humor, too. Ever notice how He often uses our most confusing, frustrating, or even laughable moments to bring things full circle? Ever lost your keys only to find them in the most obvious place? Or prayed for patience and then got stuck in the longest line at the grocery store? Sometimes, all we can do is laugh. God knows what we need, and sometimes, He teaches us with a wink and a nudge, reminding us that His ways are higher than ours and that we’re never in this alone.
It’s easy to feel like we’re falling behind or that we missed some critical step. But Ecclesiastes 3:1 reassures us: “To everything, there is a season, and a time for every purpose under heaven.” If there’s something you’re hoping for, it may not be a “no” but rather a “not yet.” God’s vision isn’t just about seeing everything clearly—it’s about seeing it at the perfect time. So while we’re waiting, we can trust that He’s arranging every piece just right, even if we can’t understand it now.
Let’s close with a simple prayer: Lord, thank You for seeing what we can’t see. Help us to trust in Your timing, rely on Your vision, and laugh through the moments we don’t understand. Give us eyes of faith to look past the natural and see Your supernatural plan. When life feels blurry, help us find clarity in Your Word and peace in Your promises. Amen.
So, as we keep moving forward, let’s lean on God’s 20/20 vision instead of our own limited sight. While we may be looking at rough sketches, He’s designed the whole masterpiece. Keep the faith, add a sprinkle of laughter, and trust that His vision is always crystal clear, even when ours is a bit fuzzy. After all, it’s not just about what we can see—it’s about Who sees us.
